"Public Information takes many forms - the simple sign outside a meeting place that says 'A.A. meeting tonight'; listing in local phone directories; distribution of A.A. literature; and radio and television shows using sophisticated media techniques. Whatever the form, it comes down to 'one drunk carrying the message to another drunk,' whether through personal contact or through the use of third parties and the media." - Bill W.
Mission Statement
Alcoholics Anonymous in Georgia, the website, is a twelve step effort of Area 16 Alcoholics Anonymous. Layout, design and site content is the work of and voted upon by the Website Committee. This statement is website policy based upon a collection of voted consciences of Area 16 Alcoholics Anonymous and the Website Committee.
We, the collective conscience of Area 16 Alcoholics Anonymous and the Website Committee, wish:
1. To communicate what Alcoholics Anonymous is to the visitor and do so in a simple way. Hence the content being the Preamble and the external links to the General Services Offices of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Grapevine.
2. To direct visitors to meeting places by providing group names, the street address of meeting places, general driving directions to the meetings and current meeting schedules.
3. To serve as an internal tool to dispense continually up-to-date meeting schedules in a cost effective package on one page, for copies, if possible, and with ease of editing for the webmasters.
